At HOOFS2010 Brumby Rescue, our passion lies in the rescue and preservation of Australia's iconic Wild Horses, affectionately known as Brumbies.

Our mission is clear: we advocate, rescue, protect and preserve these majestic horses, ensuring their survival for generations to come.

We are dedicated to the rescue of Brumbies removed from the wild, providing them with a second chance at life and a sustainable future within the equine community. Each rescue is meticulously recorded, and we commit to supporting these horses for life, ensuring they thrive in their new environments.

"The Brumby" is more than just a horse; it's a symbol of Australia's heritage and resilience. HOOFS2010 recognizes the value of these magnificent animals, often overlooked by many. Our mission is not only to rescue Brumbies from potential slaughter but to also advocate for environmentally responsible solutions to manage Brumby populations, emphasizing the importance of their preservation for our collective future.

Charity Overview

HOOFS2010 Inc. is a registered not-for-profit charity with DGR Endorsement, committed to rescuing Brumbies. Our sanctuary provides a safe haven for all Brumbies who come into our care. Each Brumby rescued is registered with the Southern Cross Brumby Register and branded with the Southern Cross brand.

Our team also ensures the well-being of these horses through gelding colts and preparing them for rehoming on a life lease basis to responsible owners.

HOOFS2010 is dedicated to the rescue, protection, and preservation of a sustainable proportion of Australia's wild (Brumby) horse population, with the overarching goal of preventing uncontrolled mass culling.

Our flagship program, the HOOFS2010 Brumby Rehoming Program, is dedicated to finding loving homes for our Brumbies while ensuring they receive essential training and care. Through this initiative, Brumbies are prepared for their new lives with basic training, ensuring a smooth transition to domestication.

Brumbies in our rehoming program undergo comprehensive preparation. They are acclimated to domestic fencing, ensuring they are comfortable and secure in their new environments. Additionally, each Brumby receives thorough veterinary care, including gelding, microchipping, branding, vaccinations, and deworming, for their overall health and well-being.

Our team focuses on equipping Brumbies with essential skills for domestic life. These horses are trained to be caught in the paddock, lead, tie up, pick up their hooves, and load into trailers, fostering positive interactions with humans and facilitating ease of handling.

ABOUT OUR LAND PROJECT

HOOFS have been rescuing Brumbies from all over Australia for over a decade, we know that the plight of the Brumbies Australia-wide is in desperate need of a solution.

We have the solution and that is the HOOFS2010 Land Project, also known as MIRRABOOKA BAROOMBY MOONYAH which when translated means Southern Cross Wild Horse Safe House.

All our work for over a decade has been done on 10 acres of land. We love the sanctuary in Berrigan, we love the setup and we've worked tirelessly to manage and maintain it, however, it is privately owned.

We realise that it is time to bring our longest goal and dream into a reality which is why we have embarked on a fundraising campaign to buy and secure land that will enable our work to continue for generations to come. This is our legacy

BRUMBY BARN SHOP

The HOOFS2010 Brumby Barn Shop opened its doors opened for the first time on Saturday 12th 2023.

After 12 months of being at the shop in town, we sadly but gratefully were moved out due to the shop now being formally leased.

We are incredibly thankful to the owner for allowing us to utilise the shop, but now it was time to really put our barn at the sanctuary to good use.

Work at the barn has been busy, and we've got a great team of workers, they've all been hard at it to get the barn shop ready.

The purpose and the reason for opening our BRUMBY BARN SHOP is to boost our fundraising campaigns.

Friends and supporters do take the time to visit us at the Brumby Sanctuary in Berrigan, New South Wales because it is here that you will get a glimpse of the work we do with the Brumbies and why.

The shop is the bonus, so come for a browse, we have many beautiful items for sale. When you buy from the Brumby Barn Shop you are buying an item that has a cause behind it and that cause is for the lives of our Australian icons..... The BRUMBY.
