Today we welcomed the VCAL students from Cobram Special School as they begin to prepare for the Duke of Edinburgh award in September. The Duke Of Edinburgh Award provides an opportunity for students to undertake a journey of self discovery to learn life skills whilst actively becoming connected within their local communities to make a difference through their positive contributions and involvement.
We are thrilled to be able to support these inspiring young ones as they learn through hands on experience of what is involved in Brumby management, risk assessment and the role the overall sanctuary provides.
The visit from the Cobram Specialist School students helps with the the possibility of HOOFS2010 being chosen as the residential placement as part of the Duke Of Edinburgh award, it is an exciting opportunity for students as well as for us all of us here at HOOFS2010.
Whilst the the students were at the sanctuary they completed the on site risk assessment process, enjoyed a BBQ lunch and dropped by the Blue Highways Gallery to see the gorgeous Brumby photographs on display by Mark Buttsworth.
We enjoyed having the students at the sanctuary and we hope to see them again in the future.
