Who would have ever thought that an opportunity to drive a new Ford Ranger would have ever come into my life? Well, it was certainly not me, I never ever thought that something like this would ever come into my life. Obviously the powers that be in the world had other plans and this incredible opportunity came my way.
I'll admit I tried to palm it off and I tried to get someone else to do it, they stood their ground and said "no, this baby is yours and you are going to do it." I was absolutely freaking out, I made up all kinds of excuses within myself, but this opportunity was not going anywhere so I had to confront it, brave it, get out of my own way and stop trying to sabotage what I given.
On the day the crew arrived to begin filming, the big wet came, it rained, it poured, it was terribly cold and I was shaking with nerves, I have never ever done anything like this in my life. Yes, I have been in front of cameras to do interviews, I've been on the news, I've done many of these over the years but this one was different. This TV on a much bigger scale and here it was, a chance to drive a new Ranger Ute for Ford, it was definitely a pinch me moment.
The crew were amazing people, I thoroughly enjoyed talking and being with all of them, the entire experience was amazing. I actually got a small glimpse of what it is like to be on TV from an actors perspective with everything they must do and go through, there were so many cuts and do it again moments.
Driving that RANGER was one of the best feelings, I felt extreme joy inside of me, it really was an indescribable feeling. All the extras that the Ford Ranger UTE comes with certainly made that brief time I had with it a sheer pleasure to drive. The heated seats, starting the car to warm it up before I got in it, the ease of backing it up with the help from the camera and hooking up the horse float, imagine what a UTE like this during the extremes heat of Berrigan's summer months will do.
Horse rescue has been my life, I have faced challenge after challenge for many years, rescue work is tough, it's hard, it's exhausting on all levels and resilience is one of the very core strengths that you must have. I have a vision for the horses, it is a life plan for the rescue sanctuary and that plan will come into reality, I am not ever stopping because their lives are important and this is my legacy.
