HOOFS2010 ANNUAL REPORT
Another 12 months have passed and it's been a tough year. The Brumbies across Australia are in dire need and many of us have felt the limitations imposed upon us.

With that being said many newcomers to the plight have stepped up to save our Brumbies, it takes sheer dedication to a cause that one must apply to themselves to help out.
Raising funds, finding the right homes, caring for the Brumbies long term when they just cannot adjust to domestic life, the management of the sanctuary, and all the obligations and admin tasks on a daily basis all require commitment. It's all a part of the bigger picture because every part of this work must be considered. It is not as simple as just saving them all, there are many facets and modes of rehoming and each is a worthy effort whilst the government and their agencies are firmly set on removing and eradicating all the living heritage many of us hold so dear.
This past year we all have worked hard with our fundraising efforts to not only care for our Brumbies but a dream to buy land so that the work can continue well into the future. The land project is a place that will be a Sanctuary to Brumbies, a place where like-minded Australians can share the beauty of our wild horses, a place that belongs to all who care to join and share, to date we have raised $165,000 which has provided a good start, there's still a long way to go.

In 2023 our Charity Shop in Chanter St closed due to the owner of the shop acquiring a lease, we therefore packed up and moved out. We are very grateful for the time that we were able to utilise the shop with no rent payments for the use.
We then decided that it would be best to re-work the barn at the Brumby Sanctuary to accommodate the shop. There was a bit of work to be done to set up and we're now up and running. It's now been renamed to Brumby Barn Shop.
We are looking at all possibilities of how to secure land. We have presented our plan to government officials for funding, there is no assistance from them at all, and our plans are ignored. We strive to raise the funds to buy sizeable land that can secure a future, we do not want to lease land because we feel that this could potentially place the Brumbies in a vulnerable situation and even jeopardize our overall project and plan.
We have engaged a financial broker to look at the possibility of borrowing the funds to purchase land but the risks are too great if we were not able to meet mortgage repayments.
Therefore we do have some milestones to conquer and a lot of work ahead whilst we strive to meet the dream and care for our Brumbies in Sanctuary.
Motivation is key to being successful and we will achieve the Sanctuary dream. Momentum is building and it is this that keeps us grounded and holding tight to the goals we must keep kicking. The land project is the solution for our Aussie icons, it's how we can HELP OUR OLD FRIENDS SURVIVE.
HOOFS2010 will continue to lobby for our Wild horses, We will continue on this journey to be the very voice that our Heritage Horses need, we're not giving up, or giving in, we're standing firm in all that we believe for our Brumbies.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to each and every one of you who continues to support and walk this journey with us.
Thank you from the entire HOOFS2010 team
